Questions, answered
How are words counted?
Letter and number sequences count as words. Apostrophes inside words are retained, while punctuation and hyphens separate words. Languages without spaces may require a language-specific counter.
What does the character count include?
Characters are Unicode code points, including spaces and line breaks. A combined emoji can contain more than one code point. Reading time and sentence counts are estimates.
