A LITTLE KNOW-HOW

About this tool

Calculate salary income tax for Pakistan tax year 2027: 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027. Enter taxable salary, after any exemptions you have independently confirmed. Monthly mode assumes 12 equal salary payments; annual mode accepts the actual taxable salary for the year. A separate annual taxable bonus is added once. The calculation applies each marginal rate only to the income inside its band.

How to use it

  1. 1

Choose monthly salary for a full year, or annual salary for your actual taxable pay in this tax year.

  2. 2

Enter taxable salary in PKR and any separate annual taxable bonus. Do not include a bonus twice.

  3. 3

Review the annual estimate, monthly averages and every marginal band. Check your own credits and payroll adjustments separately.

Questions, answered

How do the salary bands and high-income surcharge work?

Annual income up to PKR 600,000 is tax-free. The next bands apply 1%, 11%, 20%, 25%, 29%, 32% and 35%, with the 35% band starting above PKR 7 million. Each rate applies only within its band. FBR Circular 02/2026–27 confirms that the previous 9% salary surcharge above PKR 10 million was withdrawn. This estimate stops at PKR 100 million, below the cited super-tax thresholds.

Is this my exact payroll deduction or final tax liability?

No. This is a salary-only estimate before credits, reliefs and payroll deductions. The salary schedule requires salary to be more than 75% of taxable income, so business or other income can change the applicable schedule. Use annual mode for part-year work. Monthly results divide the annual estimate by 12 and include the annual bonus as an average; actual withholding timing can differ. Amount after tax means taxable pay minus this income-tax estimate, not a complete payslip.
